A quintessential West Village modern bar & grill is seeking a hands on, guest facing General Manager to lead one of downtown Manhattan’s most dynamic dining rooms. Rooted in classic New York charm, this restaurant blends old-school hospitality, a vibrant bar scene, timeless energy, and the perfect martini. Reporting directly to ownership, the GM will serve as the visible leader of the floor, preserving the restaurant’s character while driving operational excellence, financial performance, and delivering three-star service in a two-star setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Full oversight of all day-to-day restaurant operations

• Serve as the primary and highly visible floor leader with an impeccable, warm dining room presence

• Set and maintain exceptionally high service and guest expectations

• Drive a culture of detail-oriented execution across every shift

• Own full P&L accountability including revenue growth, labor management, purchasing, and COGS control

• Oversee purchasing strategy and cost management to protect margins without compromising quality

• Lead all FOH operations while ensuring seamless collaboration with BOH leadership

• Recruit, mentor, and retain a polished, hospitality-driven service team

• Cultivate VIP relationships and build a strong base of repeat clientele

• Partner closely with ownership on strategic growth initiatives

• Ensure compliance with DOH, liquor authority, and all regulatory standards

Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of GM or senior leadership experience in NYC

• Demonstrated ownership of P&L, purchasing, and cost controls

• Background in upscale-casual, brasserie, steakhouse, or bar-forward concepts

• Strong beverage acumen including classic cocktails and wine knowledge

• Naturally hospitable with a refined yet approachable leadership style

• Highly detail-oriented and operationally disciplined

• Calm, confident presence who thrives in a high-energy dining room
